'Strangers at the dinner table' emerged from a collaborative film project made on behalf of the Bauhaus Spring School filmmaking course: (re)Thinking Privilege Through Filmmaking' . Together with six students of different nationalities we exchanged our ideas and our visions to collaborate on one short documentary. Our interest about the cultural and social role of food brought us together to organise an international dinner with people from all over de globe of which every individual brought a significant dish to the table. We wanted to research more about how food connects people from all over the globe and how this reveals mutual feelings. 'Strangers at the dinner table' is an experimental short documentary as a result of this proces.
